There's nothing worse than when
what could have been
feels like
what should have been,
and maybe that's
what would have been
if I hadn't been
such an asshole.

And though I know
that I am the boat
that will keep my afloat,
every time I see you,
or I think I see you,
at that unavoidable intersection,
I get capsized by a wave of
Could've
I almost drown in a sea of
Should've
and even when I rectify my vessel,
I'm still soaked to the bone with
Would've
and I wish I hadn't been
such an asshole.
